The Metro Denver Farmers Market has four locations: Southwest Plaza, Lakewood, Highlands Ranch, and Littleton. Southwest Plaza is only open on Saturdays from May 7 to October 29. Lakewood operates solely on Saturdays as well, from June 18 to October 1. Southwest Highlands Ranch is open Sundays from May 8 to October, and Littleton on Wednesdays running from June 15 to October 12.
Colorado Fresh Markets
A collection of Denver farmers markets, Colorado Fresh Markets sell fruits, vegetables, baked goods and locally crafted items. The Cherry Creek Fresh Market is open on Saturdays from May to September, and Wednesdays from June to September. The City Park Esplanade Fresh Market is open on Sundays from June to October.
Harry’s Urban Farmers Market
Meat, veggies, milk, and eggs are just some of the many locally grown products you can pick up at Harry’s Urban Farmers Market. Open on Saturdays starting in May and running through summer. (Last year the market was open until late September.)
More than your standard farmers market, The Source is a self-described “artisan food market” that houses a wide array of vendors in its building, from locally roasted coffee to a cheese shop and a bank. Open 7 days a week.
The Farmers Market at Highlands Square
Local vendors, local produce and local music – find it at the Farmers Market at Highlands Square. Open on Sundays from June to September.
Mo’ Betta Green Marketplace
Exercise, enjoy live music and take your pick of locally grown vegetables at R&B’s Mo’ Betta Green Marketplace. Thursdays, 5-8 p.m., from August 6 to September 10.
Four Seasons Farmers & Artisans Market
Four Season Farmers & Artisans Market in Wheat Ridge is held indoors, and in addition to selling a variety of foods, you can also purchase local art, or take a gardening class. Open Tuesday through Sunday year-round, with their Summer Outdoor Market running from June 4 to October 31.
Located in Wheat Ridge and running for over 60 years, Heine’s Market carries a variety of fresh, local produce, including roasted hatch chiles, during the summer months. Open Monday through Sunday.
Based on the information above, the best time to go to a Denver farmers market is typically between June and September, give or take a few weeks. Most are only open on Saturday or Sunday, the norm for farmers markets elsewhere in the nation.
