What U.S. cities come to mind when the topic of museums is brought up? If your first answer was New York City or Washington, D.C., well, we wouldn’t blame you. After all, NYC’s MOMA and the Smithsonian museums in the nation’s capital are phenomenal, to say the say the least. But, not everyone lives on the East Coast, and not every excellent museum resides in those two cities. Denver boasts some pretty impressive museums itself, and if you ask us, you definitely need to make room in your itinerary for any of the places listed on this blog. Of course, when you stay at Castle Marne Bed & Breakfast, visiting Denver museums is a breeze, thanks to our location downtown. If education is part of your ideal vacation, keep reading!

The Top 3 Things To See At Denver Museums
1. “Mummies: New Secrets From the Tombs” at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science
The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is cool – really cool. In fact, we even wrote a whole blog post on how great of a place it is and why you should visit, no matter how old you are! But if we’re talking about the must-see attractions at Denver Museums, then “Mummies: New Secrets From the Tomb.” This fascinating exhibit will explore recent findings from the study of mummies from both Egypt and Peru, including facial reconstructions, artifacts, and much more. But don’t wait – this limited-time exhibit will only be featured until Feb. 5, 2017.
2. The Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter Exhibit at Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum
Anyone who has ever dreamed of intergalactic warfare in a galaxy far, far away knows that December 2016 isn’t just another month – it’s the month that “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” comes out! Why not celebrate by visiting an exhibit that will put a smile on the face of the scummiest Rebel or the coldest Stormtrooper? Head to Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum and check out this painstakingly accurate ¾ scale replica of one of sci-fi’s most iconic spacecraft: Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing.
3. “Clyfford Still: The Works on Paper” at the Clyfford Still Museum
The Clyfford Still Museum is an incredible display of Still’s Abstract Expressionist work, a genre he helped define and advance. The museum is full of fascinating exhibits, but the one you need to see is “Clyfford Still: The Works on Paper.” On display until Jan. 15, 2017, this exhibit is the first one featuring his graphic art exclusively, according to the museum’s website.
