Which Denver Bike Trails Are Worth Discovering?
As you trek through downtown Denver, you can navigate through the city two ways. You can either download the official Denver Bike Map PDF, or use Google Maps on your smartphone. If you use Google Maps, set the directions to “Bicycle” mode. Here are our recommendations for which Denver bike trails are the best!
Bear Creek Bike Trail
The 20-mile journey along the Bear Creek Bike Trail will bring you closer to nature. Nestled along the South Platte River, you’ll follow this scenic route to the tiny mountain town of Morrison. If you have the energy and the time, you can even make the 40- to 60-mile loop through Chatfield State Park back to downtown Denver.
Cherry Creek Bike Path
You’ll find two bikes ready at Castle Marne for you and your loved one to spend some time together on a ride through our urban downtown to Confluence Park. This breathtaking green space in the heart of downtown is where the Cherry Creek Bike Path begins. This paved trail is one of the prettiest and most popular Denver bike trails for its natural scenery and close proximity to shopping. Parts of this 40-mile trail are included in the Front Range Trail, a route stretching from Wyoming to New Mexico, and it ends in the beautiful town of Franklin.
Clear Creek Bike Path
As you ride along the Clear Creek Bike Path, you’ll notice the fast-rushing Clear Creek on one side and the open countryside on the other. This magnificent 20-mile route ends in Golden, a Western town located right outside of Denver. If you need a refreshment after your journey, stop by Coors Brewery for a much-deserved beer.
Follow the paved Greenway Trail down the South Platte River and experience several national parks along the way. Whether you want to visit Confluence Park or Chatfield State Park, this 20-mile route will take you there! You’ll also see many informative signs placed by the Colorado Historical Society. These signs are designed to teach trailblazers about the Native Americans who once lived there as well as local Colorado wildlife and plants.
