Do you like running? Do you like Denver? Do you like challenging yourself, pushing your limits, and crossing the finish line after completing a 26.2-mile run? If you answered yes to those questions, then the Denver Colfax Marathon is the race for you! Self-dubbed as “The Ultimate Urban Tour of Denver,” the Denver Colfax Marathon takes runners past everything that makes the Mile High City amazing. It’s a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon, and at an altitude of 5,280 feet, it’s easy to see why. The Colfax Marathon is no joke, but running in one of the nation’s best cities and an exciting afterparty is worth the challenge.

The Denver Colfax Marathon
Entering its 13th year, the Colfax Marathon 2018 will take place on Sunday, May 20. The marathon is one of several events held during Marathon Weekend (May 18-20), including the Health and Fitness Expo, Colfax 5k, Urban 10 Miler, Half-Marathon, and Marathon Relay.
Get Ready to Run!
The Denver Colfax Marathon route winds through the city, taking runners in, past, and through some of Denver’s most well-known districts, parks, and structures. The race is broken into five sections: Urban River, No Groans at Sloan’s, Eclectic Mile High, Screaming Downhill, and Downtown River Trek. The sections vary in mileage and scenery, from running through Mile High Stadium and by the Confluence (Urban River) to racing onto the campus of the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design and into the city of Lakewood (Eclectic Mile High). The race comes to an end in the beautiful Denver City Park, near the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and Ferril Lake, according to the marathon website.
From start to finish, the 26.2 miles of the Denver marathon are loaded with the city’s best scenery. Along the way are six aid stations and fans to cheer you on (including firemen when you run through Denver’s Firestation 1!). Of course, the best part of race day is saved for last: the Michelob Ultra Beer Garden party! Celebrate your accomplishment with beer, food, music, and thousands of other finishers — it’s ultimate finish to an amazing race.
